Corn on the cob-oh yeah!

She loves corn on the cob! I saw a 30 minute meals where Rachel Ray was talking about her pictures as a baby sucking on a corn cob. I thouhgt to myself "Self, you need to buy NK some good ole corn on the cob." When I handed her the plate with her dinner on it her eyes got wide and she grabbed that yellow cob right up and started biting it. It was adorable!

Pray for your enemies

Apparently I have an enemy. He did tell me to put this on my blog so here it is, the reply from the jumpy place. Something funny is, when I started to read it I had forgotten the whole incident. It always helps to write something down when you are mad and get it off your chest and then you don't have to worry about it for a while. Of course then people get ticked at you because you were ticked at them. Vicious cycle I believe. Anyone have a better suggestion? Here is his reply to my email. Notice he doesn't say anything about letting a younger sibling jump for free. Which we do know happens.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but I believe you may not understand how
we operate our facility or how we pay for the costs to operate it.
We charge for any child who plays on the inflatables whetherthey are 1Year
old or whatever.
I realize your friend told you that your child was free but our employee's
did not tell you that.information. Even though your freind gave you
incorrect information does not mean we are to blame and we don't deserve to
have incorrect information posted on your blog.

Why we are not free? We pay $8,300 for rent in our facility monthly and we
can't afford to give everyone free admission even if they are 17 month's
old. Nowhere on our advertising does it state that a 17 Month old child is
free. We've actually had other children older, such as 5 or 6 year olds,
who came into the facility with they're younger brother or sister but chose
not jump. We did not charge them.

Our facility is based on a premise that if a child of whatever age comes in
to play on our inflatable's, which require a large amount of electricity to
run all day everyday, then we charge for that child. We do not charge the
parents to jump. We have to pay for our operation somehow to remain open.

If you are going to post your letter on your blog, then at least post our
reply. I believe most people would understand that we do not work for free.
We understand the economy is tough on everyone including us, but our
landlord still charges us monthly. I didn't mention it before but our
electric bill monthly is over $1,500 a month. We need to pay for that
somehow.

If you have any questions you can call me on my cell phone at 615-456-3356.

Just say NO to the jumpy place!

A friend told me that it was free to jump @ kids party jump on Friday's for 18 mos and younger. So, I get her and myself all ready, put on our rain gear, get out in the pouring rain and drive over to the place. We get there and walk in the rain to go jump. It was close to her naptime so she would only jump for an hour maybe. We go in and they tell us they don't provide that service anymore, but my friend has been there several times even this summer and it was still applicable. Needless to say I was very annoyed, it was going to cost $6.50 for her to jump for an hour. C'mon people she is not going to do any damage! I already wrote them an email to let them know I was disgruntled. Just wanted you to know. There is a link to it where it says kids party jump- couldn't figure out how to change the color.

PopPop's Birthday Lunch

We had lots of fun going to PopPop's work and eating lunch with him for his birthday. We walked around his work and met his co-workers. She had the most fun in PopPop's office closing his door and playing with the toy car and ball spinner. She would close the door and then say "cose, cose", then we would open the door and she would close it again. She had a blast!
I found her sunglasses today (ha, of all days when it is raining) and she really enjoyed having them on and taking them off. She kept trying to put them back on and saying "gass."

Check out my Guestbook!

Favorite clothes

I was doing NK's laundry yesterday and she found her fish pants. She immediately pulled them out and tried to step into them by herself. When she couldn't figure out how to get them on she handed them to me and said "peas" with her arm waving (what she does when she is excited). Once we got them on under her jumper she proceeded to find all the fish on her pants. Here are some pics of the funny fishy occasion. She also looks at the camera now and says "CHEEEESEE."

Jerusalum Market VBS

VBS has been a blast so far! The gym looks totally amazing! Better than I have ever seen it. It is totally transformed into a wonderful experience for the kiddos. Our class is doing to weaving portion and we are really enjoying it I think. Naomi Kate liked the petting zoo untill the donkey tried to sniff her face and then we had to leave. We really only got to pet the bunnies then she looked up and he had turned around suddenly and was sniffing her and she freaked out. She has been enjoying it though. Here are some pictures of Sunday and Monday nights. More to come I think.

We had lots of fun with Aunt Carol and Grandpa. Grandpa did his horse riding for us and we pretended to eat off our tray with Aunt Carol.

Swimming with Taylor & Kristen

We have really been swimming a lot this year!  This Wednesday we went swimming with Taylor and Kristen.  We got out of our hippo float and tried to swim by ourselves.  It didn't work out terribly well.  She kept wanting to drink the water.  I couldn't get her mouth closed long enough to let go of her and let her swim.  When I did she drank and breathed in the water.  Yuck!  Then when she got out she had an accident on the concrete.  This swim was a bit of a disaster!

Wildlife conservation area

Last week Naomi Kate and I were looking for a different place to walk around and investigate.  We decided to stop by the wildlife conservation area right off Walton Ferry Rd.  We actually went to the little beach area first but it was packed!
It was nice to explore a new place and I think she enjoyed all the trees and the birds.  As we got close to the water there was a dead possum and it smelled so bad I almost vomited.  NK must have developed her daddy's sense of smell because she didn't seem to notice.
In the last picture she was getting tired and hot.  It was time Mommy did her job and carried her back.  She is also displaying in her hand her latest favorite thing- Lip Gloss or "goss" she says.  We had at least 6 tubes of it but they have all mysteriously disappeared.  Hmm, will this be a new theme in our lives??

She is feeling better by the way but still has a lingering cough.

Zoo

We had lots of fun at the zoo!  Naomi Kate really enjoyed it.
She did fall asleep before the petting zoo,
so we will have to try again.

Happy Birthday Grandad!

We hope Grandad had a great birthday!  We loved his party!

Okay I think I have decided to never change my background again, so you better like it.  Anyway here are the much anticipated potty pics.  Haha, you thought she was really potty training.  Well, we are getting her thinking about it, hopefully.  The first picture is when she put the "comfy cushy" seat on her arm and said in toddlerese "a brace, preee".  She thought it was a really big bracelet.

Ms. Yvonne's

We really enjoyed ourselves at Ms. Yvonne's house.  We got to do whatever we wanted to pretty much.  We also got to watch a movie!  I think she liked the bits and pieces she saw of it.  She was quite busy exploring the house and playing with Ms. Yvonne.  We had yummy food and got to take some home to Josh, who enjoyed it also.  Thanks so much for having us over!

4th of July

We hope everyone had a happy 4th of July. We went to the Freedom Festival and wore our cute fourth outfit.  She loved all the balloons and fun things.  We got a very nice moo chow hat from the chick-fil-a peeps.  We are glad that the church sold all the funnel cakes!  Yum, yum.  No one let me know how the hushpiggies were but I assume they are good.  Have a great holiday!
